This is our third week in this class and in this week we had
two guest came to deliver knowledge about internet, traditional learning and
online learning, blackboard learn. In blackboard learn we could get lot
material for different subjects and that was awesome because we could use that
in our classroom. Even when we uploaded any video from YouTube and we could
play that video without any advertisement. I got material for mathematics and
science. I like their organization technique because I made material for
different grade in mathematics and I saved that materials in different folders.
But in blackboard we can arrange that in proper way.
Online learning is useful for those students who cannot able
to attain school or university. So many students would like to attain online
courses to save their time. Online courses needed some recourses like virtual
classroom software, browser, microphone, webcam, software application. Online
learning is useful to build a community. Blended learning is useful because
teacher could engage and motivate the students and students have some control
over the pace and place their learning will take. But in traditional learning
students can more interact with other students in class and even with teacher.
Even teacher can understand feelings and problems of the students.
In second day I attained the class on zoom and that
experience was good. We all participated in group discussion, we used white
board to write something, and chat with our classmates. Zoom is useful because
host can show his/her screen to all other person. I am using Skype and face-time
most frequently every day. Even I use zoom every month for group meeting
related to spiritual work and for youth program (related to religious).
Technology is so wide, every day we can learn some new technology.
I thought the blackboard program was really cool. As you mentioned, the way the YouTube videos can be added to the lesson with out the ads or comments is so handy for us as educators. So many people have been in a class where either the ad is long or there is an inappropriate comment below the video you are watching and the keener in the room never misses it! I think it is really awesome that you use Zoom for your meetings. I think by seeing people it is much more personal than just talking to them on the phone or through emails. The blended learning sounded really awesome especially with the rate that technology is increasing! Great post Khyati!
ReplyDeleteOnline learning is very useful for students and many students would like to learn online to get different knowledge and to save their time and I agree with your statement. Nowadays we have lot technology and so teacher can use it. Traditional classroom is good for students and teacher can connect that class with technology. Because when we connect technology with our teaching then students can more engage and create interest form that. Zoom is also nice application which we used in our last class. I would like to use this application in future with my students.
ReplyDeleteI really see online learning getting more and more popular in the future. Like you mentioned there is alot of pros and cons to this though! There really is no replacement for classroom learning and learning with your peers But it is really helpful for those people who don't have access to certain courses that aren't available in their schools. This just brought me to a thought.....If a student is completely capable of learning online without the use for a classroom teacher, isn't this a good thing? I feel this is what we push our students to strive for. I guess its a good indicator of an independent learner.

ReplyDeleteI could not agree with you more Online learning is starting to be more popular now a days for the reason there is so many great apps and programs people can use to complete a degree or get a course. I feel this is a great thing for people who can’t attended university due to transportation, child at home or feel they are too old to go back to university so they take course online and can go at their own pace. The blackboard program we got introduced to can be really useful tool for students taking distant ed course. The program is set up so nicely that a student can go at his own pace and the teacher still can have full control of the program and can monitor when the student is on doing the assigned readings. With these opportunities there has been so many new people with degrees and being productive members of society.
