ASSIGNMENT ....TT- 2 ..

I always like to organize my all materials. So, I always try to organize my folders related to lessons, notes, documents, portfolio in my computer. There are so many websites which are useful to organize our data. It is important for teachers and the students to organize. Also depends on person that which curation they like to follow. I search online and I found that there are more than 30 different curations. From that I was familiar with Diigo, Feedly, Symbaloo, Hootsuite, Pearltrees.

Feedly and Symbaloo are great tools in which we could organize our useful and important sites. In feedly I like one thing that when some person share their blogs, I could see that blogs without searching that person. We could share anything from feedly to Twitter, Facebook and WordPress. 

In Feedly when we connect Twitter, link for blogs, then that always arrange the latest stuff first. When in Symbaloo we couldn’t see latest updates. Before using Feedly and Symbaloo, I used bookmarks in google. But instead of bookmarks in google symbaloo and feedly are more useful and creative.

I have one question about Google docs. Can I consider Google docs as a curation? Because in Google docs I could save my material, documents, and then I could share that documents with any person. Google docs is also useful to organize and save our materials. And people could make changes and share that document with us.

I would like to use curations in my last placement and that is useful for students and teachers. Students can use in school to organize their assignments, project, notes, review, reading material, useful sites. So, they could save their stuff to use in future.

SECOND WEEK..BLOG 2

In second week of this class we learned about PLN (Personal learning Networks) for educator. And that networks should be interested, useful and should be safe for users. That tree things are required when we join any applications like Facebook, twitter. Before year ago I like to use Facebook, to connect with friends, to share something. But someone hacked my account and uploaded some video. And so I closed my account at that time. So I am always conscious about security of my account and so when I used twitter first time, I was little bit worried about safety of the account.

In school safety is important when our students use technology. In this week we had guest on zoom and he gave us some information about digital realities. Dr. Alec Couros show us some videos, in which students recorded their talent and then uploaded on YouTube.  Some students prefer to learn from video because we they are learning from video, they could pause that video to rethink, repeat that video and they can play again to understand and for revision. When in class they can’t do that thing. Even so many teachers are like to watch video to teach and to get better strategy to teach.

In last placement, my CT always recorded her class lecture and then she uploaded on YouTube. So, if students missed class then they can learn and even for revision that is useful. She also used skype, so if some students have some problem to attaining the class, they could join skype and can learn online. So, I would say this types of technology like zoom and skype are useful for teachers and students. I would like to use more technology in my last placement, which can create interest to learn, and also that save our time.   

BLOG 1 ...First Week.....

To learn more about Internet (technology) I have again good chance in this class. I think there is no end to learn technology. I can learn some new things in technology every time, and every day. In the first week of class we learned about twitter, Hootsuite, feedly, and symbaloo. I learned about symbaloo and feedly in ICT class which are useful tools. I used symbaloo and it was a great application and I didn’t use feedly more in last semester. In feedly we can brings all applications (twitter, Facebook…) on one page, so we don’t need to go individually to access the sites for each.

We discussed on topics like ‘what is the Internet?’. For that I would say Internet is a platform to connect people, show self-identity, quick searcher, and shortcut path to get information about anything and from any place in the world. Nowadays everyone needs Internet for searching, to connect with people, education, job, research, etc. So, I would say Internet is a part of our life in this century and as we know there are so many pros & cons for Internet which I don’t want to discuss here. 

 I had never used this application, but I like to read some good articles, discussion, blogs on mathematics, science, technology, and about education. Twitter is not only for connecting with people, but also great a place for sharing our ideas, articles, platform to show your identity, and an online blogging social network. Another good thing is we can protect our tweets by making our tweets private and more secured than any other site. 

Last Week Blog ......

This is my last blog for ICT. I learned lot in this class. From first day of the class I was worried and little bit scary about all this technology which I have been never used. But after completion of this course I could say I have so many ideas and some good knowledge about technology which I would like to use in my classroom in future. Without technology we could teach the students. But if we have some good and creative ideas and knowledge about technology, so I could connect that with my teaching and that create more interest in learning.

When we use the technology in class, we all know that there so many pros and cons about technology. Sometimes because of more use of technology students never use their creative mind for study and they always try to search the things on google. More use of internet in classroom, that sometimes not grow the mind power. And on other side more use of technology save the time. ICT has become a part and parcel of life. It has become integral part of new era. In online tutoring, the student logs into their tutor through the use of internet at home. The student asks their problem about study to teacher and teacher replies it by writing on smartboard or using document camera.      

There are some other advantages of ICT like, student accept more responsibility for their won learning and its assessment, developing expertise in the process. When we use google classroom and google docs in class that makes easier for assessment. Integrating technology into the classroom is definitely a great way to reach diversity in learning styles. It gives students the chance to interact with their classmates more by encouraging collaboration.

Smart board technology in class is very useful for students as well as for teacher. Smart boards provide new ways for teachers to teach, and student to learn. Visual learners can watch as their tutors use the whiteboards to project visual elements, the boards come with touchscreen capabilities that allow tactile learners to touch and interact with the board. And also audio learners can listen and have discussions. Smart boards allow for integration of various technologies in order to improve the learning experience. It is possible to attach tools such as microscopes, document cameras, and cameras to a whiteboard. There are so many tools in smart board and that are very useful to make quiz, games, some activities, and creative notes for students. We can also upload some video from YouTube for related subject. 

When I taught in college, at that time I never used smart board and technology in my classroom. But I could say that technology in classroom is very useful for teacher as well as for students.

Blog 8.....

              In this week we all are very excited, but with lots work. We have so much assignment for these two weeks. During this week we learned some new things in ICT.

              I never used google classroom in my practicum. In google class I learned about what we can do and how to work on google classroom. I think google classroom is useful in school. Students can attain quiz, they can submit their assignment.

              In this time we have lot technology to use. We just have to check their pros and cons. In classroom if we use more technology then we can save our time and students can learn easily and with interest.

              On other day we worked on e-portfolio and we shared our   e-portfolio with each other. I made my e-portfolio in Weebly. I try to make simple and visual. But I want to play with it more after this term. So I can make my portfolio more perfectly. When we shared our portfolio with each other, at that time I got so many ideas and I cleared my some confusion about Weebly. Wix is also very good and I think more easy compare to Weebly.

               Next week is last week for us. I am very excited for that………. 

Blog 7 for ICT class

Last week in class I enjoyed a lot. Because we watched short film and that was awesome. We tried to put our creativity, ideas, and expressions.

On the first day of the week I learned about mind map. That was my favourite strategy and I always try to use that. But, using some application when we made mind map that was nice. I would like to use that for my lesson plan and for lessons.

Also in that week we discussed about digital literacy and media literacy. We wrote all our thoughts about digital literacy or media literacy on one chart paper.

I also learned about wikispace. We worked in group and that was useful application.

Now we have 2 weeks left. I would like to learn some new things in this weeks….

First week after placement ....

             In first week after placement we all back with some new things which we applied in our placement. On first day we shared our experience about technology which we used in our placement. I used document camera in my placement. Before that I never used document camera. But that was good experience for me because at a time I used notes, z-score table from book, graphing calculator. In smart board that was hard to show table from book and calculator and example at a time. Document camera was connected with computer. So in my biology class sometimes I used document camera and I also show them video from YouTube.

            Also my CT was recorded to her lecture and uploaded that video on the YouTube and Moodle for those students who have absent in the class. Also sometimes students used that video for revision. I like that thing. So I hope in future I would like to record my lecture and that will be good for me for self-assessment and for students too.

             On Tuesday and Wednesday we learned some new things in smart board and I learned so many tools from smart board. In mathematics, we can easily drag to the shape and graph on. In smart board we can record our lecture and then can save it and play it any time.
